Rita
Tropical storm rita soon to be a Hurricane, is heading for the Texas and Louisiana coast. I am not worried about Texas, its louisiana i am worried about. On this storm track it looks like it may miss New Orleans.
http://www.weather.com/maps/news/atl...ath_large.html If its big enough New Orleans may get alot of rain. As long as this thread doesn't close I will keep you updated.

Thats absolutely astounding.. If it hits New Orleans What are the odds?
At least no one will be there for this one, if its a strong hurricane expect the least amount of death's ever.. Unless they are completely stupid. The goverment will force people out, FEMA has learned its lesson im sure.

Thank, Link. Out of all the news sources I have gotten recently, yours has been the most informative. I am not even joking. Cheers to you and jeers to major media centers avoiding this. (As of what little news I am able to watch each day, this "little story" somehow falls through the cracks of what is reported.)

CNN you mean? If so, i bet theyre busy playing on peoples fears and emotions, still making buisness out of katrina etc. Though they really should be covering this one if theyre trying to scare people.

even more bad news, if New Orleans is going to be on the NE side of the Hurricane, then... the north east side in ahurricane usually is the most destructive. Biloxi Mis was in the Ne corner of Katrina so.. New orleans in Ne corner of Rita... HUGE Devastation, it may break the leeves again. Lets hope this won't happen. *Prays*

Earthquakes, tsunami's, storms. Really bad natural disasters happening across the world one after another. I'm not that really knowledgeable in weather, but can someome tell me if these are results to what we have done to our environment for the past 200 years?

Don't hear about it? I'm sure killing our ozone layer could possibly have a big influence in our weather. If I'm thinking straight, I'm sure that these natural disasters have a closer time span than those from 1930-1990.
The icebergs melting could results more water in the ocean, more water coming down. The sun rays coming down harder than before could possibly be making more winds warmer and faster, etc. etc.
